Most definatly. They have an open mike every sunday.
Outside and the area is nice. Inside can be too crowded and is often too loud for a dog.
Minors are welcome in the daytime. They can't sit at the bar though. Not sure about at night; I would call to ask.
I play nightly, sometimes there, sometimes elsewhere
Good service. Tasty Reuben. Live Music.
Great place to meet for Happy hour and grab a beer.
This place is amazing. I drive Lyft full time and this is the first bar to let me use their bathroom without purchasing a drink.I definatly tipped the bar tender for this because that is super nice being a woman and needing a bathroom. Most bars request i buy a drink first.I wish i could of afforded more than a $5 tip; but its what i could afford since I'm not getting many rides with Lyft the week after new years.❤❤Also good vibes here. Definatly will have to come back to have a drink.
One bartender wasn't very friendly, another was sweet. Room is smaller, but crowded for an open mic on Sunday night. (Not sure of its regularity.) Great beer selection, OK booze.
If you're visiting Portland this is a must!Great live music, Good Vibes, and great crowd.I'm sure to visit here again.
Live music every night from 6pm, great local spot, deserves to be supported.
Have loved coming to the 'Thirst for varied Live Americana Music for decades. Relaxed hippie culture, ADA accessible on Glisan.bus bewtwwn Sandy n Burnside. Great Tap List, and decent food. Some gigs crowded, go early if u want to eat...or eat across the street or at the Brewery w outdoor seating, just West. Pool Hall side is usually quiet. This is NOT a sports bar. Pls respect neighbors, b quiet outside. Peace!
Awesome bartender super friendly love that spot!!
Good food, and good drinks of all kinds. Very small and cozy; best place in town for Sunday lunch with live family friendly music!
The best. Some amazing vibes in this place. Great music, food and drinks. Fun fun hang!
One of my favorite places to listen to live music in Portland. It's not very big, has a very laid-back atmosphere, and attracts an older crowd. I highly recommend it!
Great welcoming place. Music every night at 6
Great open mic night on Sunday, most people did 1 song each. We also ordered food which was really good. The banh mai and french onion dip were both amazing! Highly recommend!
Mostly I like this place but some of the people are a bit strange. Music was good although loud.
Cozy neighborhood bar with friendly staff and others.
This place is a neighborhood bar that offers live music every day, has good food, beer and a friendly staff. I come here on the first Friday of each month to see the Family Band. Country rock at its best. Love this place.
A great bar for live music. Good pub grub and a great staff.
Cool laid-back with a great variety of beers
I really like this place. You gotta get there early to get a seat, but the food and the music was really great. I ordered the veggie burger and it was delicious. They have a really good beer selection and it seemed like a lot of regulars from the neighborhood come and know each other. In the summer you can sit outside too. It seemed they have several nights where the music is free.
Pretentious place with rude staff. If you're not a local (or if you are and they think you aren't), I hope you aren't expecting a smile, eye contact, or any human decency. I left a good tip because I'm not trying to be the kind of person you encounter here, but I won't be back.
This was a real discovery. A neighborhood pub, in Laurelhurst (obviously), it's situated in an old two-story structure. The room is roughly L-shaped with the bar on the right, table seating on the left, and a small stage in back where there's live music every evening. A good selection of OR microbrews on tap, plus some good mixed drinks and a menu of pub grub. It's homey, and as a visitor from out of state I got the feeling of this being a real gathering place for the neighborhood. The adjacent room houses pinball machines and a pool table. I'm happy I found this and will return in the future.
First time at their open mic. The atmosphere is friendly and engaging. I find Portland audiences are hungry for creatives. A woman approached me after my set. She said she wanted to offer her critique of my performance. I braced for the answer. She said she wept. I was not expecting that. I wept. A good day
How can you go wrong with biscuits and gravy and vodka soda beforer 12 noon. Great music and good friends
Very homie and cool with great live music.
Laurelthirst is a good place to see a show. They have a good PA system, decent food, decent prices, and an overall "homey" vibe. Service can be pretty inattentive, which may be a plus if you're just going to see a show and don't want to get hassled to order drinks or food. They do have self-service water, which is nice.
Went by in the day and the bartender was super chill, great service. Inexpensive and decent liquor selection.Tried to stop by at night and was turned away because we didn't have cash for the cover for musicians - I don't typically carry cash and don't even have an ATM card so the suggestion to walk 2 blocks to an ATM and come back wasn't helpful.
Small friendly bar, that usually have live music during the later half of the evening.
Great place for free music! Check out "church" on Sundays and shake it!
It was great in every way.. that is, if you don't mind inhaling vast amounts of cigarette smoke everytime the door opens, which happens right outside the door at the tables. Cigarette smokers appear apathetic - and maybe clueless - to their 'intrusive' habit; most business owners - maybe not Laurelthirsts - don't have the courage to enforce the inadequate laws of 10-25 ft from the entrance; public servants (also know as police departments) certainly don't have the courage to enforce the very weak and inadequate laws; and politicians do not have the courage to enact even tougher and sensical laws to address one of the true public health hazards and risks.
The music was great. The crowd was amazing. The staff was friendly until it was time to pay. I was charged $40 for three beers. I asked about it and the bartender shrugged his shoulders. I paid and will never go back ever. If you want to be double charged, go here and leave a tab open. Otherwise take cash. I won't do business with thieves anymore.
Excellent venue with great live music and amazing staff and owners. A Portland staple.
What a wonderful crowd. Not too obnoxious or annoying but quite lively. Drinks were of an older age, but had a modern simplicity about them. Lovely spot.
Great atmosphere, music was fantastic, friendly people...danced and danced. Super fun time!
Great place for live music with a neighbor bi ood feel
I can’t count how many times I’ve danced to live music here. Somehow this place has a magic that always coerces me to my feet no matter what band may be playing. Wonderful locally community-owned watering hole and gathering place for fun.
Went to the sunday open mike. Lots of wonderful preformers.
Comfy little spot with pool, shuffle board, cheapish beer and good food
Great drinks, great atmosphere, the staff are super friendly and personable. Standard bar fare, the pickle plate is awesome.
Always feels like home! Great live music. Good service. No muss no fuss.
Live music, great food, friendly service, awesome art, cool building, good beers, and excellent cocktails. The strawberry rhubarb margarita is by far the best margarita I've ever had.
Small space for the stage, music. No place to sit and enjoy. Not a restaurant, simple pub food.
Good drinks, good live music. Very busy.
Liked the live music...but they could use more staff. Hard to get service.
Fun neighborhood pub with good food and reasonable prices. All ages feel welcomed. Every night there is live music and when we have been there, no cover charge. Old school vibe...pool table and pin ball in rear room. A great find!
Live music nightly. Lots of local musicians get their start here. Many continue to play here after they're able to sell out larger clubs. Other times you'll see new combinations of established local musicians or up-and-comers.Also food and drinks! Good stuff all around. The staff has always treated me well.
It is a fun place to dance and be with friendly people. Many of the patrons have been going there for decades and the place has that family feel to it. The inside has recently had some upgrades done and it feels very comfortable to sit and relax to good music. There's also a pool room where competitions are sometimes held.
Great music, nice space, good beer selection. Saw lots of good food but didn't try any. No drinks outside after 10pm.
Keeps ya thirstay for more. Lots of great live music, great staff, rotating cocktails and beers. Solid. If you can grab an evening beer outside here, it may just be downright perfect.
Wonderful staff good food, vibes, music. Love it
Friendly and laid back. Especially nice when live music is happening. Really good food as bars go. My wife's taco salad came with tortilla chips instead of the dreaded fried bowl. The sauce on my chicken parmigiana sandwich was a delight.
